Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get my FREE WordPress Website transfer?
Once you have signed up simply head over to the members area and open a support ticket. Our dedicated team will look after your transfer to BravaHost all the way.
What happens if the site breaks, is hacked, or malfunctions?
We are proud of our server security, however we know that sometimes WordPress Plugins can provide an unwanted opening for hackers. When things like this happen, please open a support ticket, we are here to help, and experts in un-hacking.
How is traffic bandwidth calculated, outbound or inbound, or both?
Bandwidth usage is based on the highest of either your inbound traffic or your outbound traffic. For example, if your Server uses 100 GB of incoming bandwidth and 200 GB outgoing bandwidth, your utilization for billing purposes would be 200 GB.
How is bandwidth beyond my bandwidth limit billed?
Bandwidth utilization over your limit is billed at $0.02 per GB in North American and Western European locations. If your Hybrid Hosting is set up in Singapore or Tokyo (Japan), then overage is priced at $0.04 per GB. For Hybrid Hosting set up in Sydney (Australia) overage is priced at $0.08 per GB.
Port X seems to be blocked in my hybrid-host, are you blocking it?
We block several ports that are commonly abused for DDOS attacks:
TCP & UDP ports 17, 19 & 1900
UDP ports 53413 & 11211
These blocks are permanent, and cannot be removed.
The following ports may be blocked, depending on your account:
TCP port 25 (SMTP)
TCP & UDP port 137, 138, 139 & 445
You may request these blocks be removed by opening a support ticket.
What kind of virtualization is used in the Hybrid hosts?
We utilize KVM ( Kernel-based Virtual Machine ) on 100% of our hybrid-hosts.
What kind or hardware do you use for the Hybrid Hosts?
Al of our host machines use the latest-gen Intel CPU architecture, paired with 100% SSD storage, to achieve the highest possible virtualized performance for every single hosting environment.
What backup options do you offer and how do backups work?
Automatic backups can be purchased during signup, or in the members area any time you wish, they can be configured to run daily, every other day, weekly, or monthly. The time of day, day of week/month that the backup occurs is also configurable.
You can only restore snapshots of the entire server, not individual files. and we keep your last two full backups for disaster recovery.
Are default setup will enable weekly backups with up to 30 days database backups stored in a separate folder in your Hybrid Hosting Server.
Limitations
Automatic backups will take regular snapshots of your active file system on the host. However, since we do not stop your hybrid hosting server to take a snapshot, then if you need to ask us to boot from one of your backups, then it will be similar to rebooting after a non-graceful restart of your server.
In most cases this is perfectly acceptable, and modern file systems and databases handle this scenario extremely well, however, we can also setup additional measures to guarantee a consistent state of your database data, by request, so if you run very active and write intensive database-type system you're covered!
MySQL can be setup with a cron job to regularly run mysqldump, which will dump a backup of your database to a separate directory on your local file system on a daily basis.
If you have specific requirements, or require this kind of service then please open a support ticket in your members area.
